One of the most significant technical updates in the transition to SimpplrOne involves the change in URL structure. While this upgrade aims to improve usability, performance, and add more features, it's important to understand how it will affect links, both internal (within the intranet) and external (outside the intranet).
Internal Links: Seamless Continuity Within the Intranet
One of the key benefits of the URL restructuring process is the automatic handling of internal links. These are hyperlinks that point from one page on the intranet to another—for example, a team site linking to a policy page, or a project overview linking to related resources within the intranet.
To ensure a smooth transition, all internal links will be automatically updated during the upgrade to SimpplrOne. This means:
-
No user intervention is required. If Page X includes a hyperlink to Page Y, the system will adjust that link to align with the new URL format.
-
Navigation remains seamless. Users will continue to access the correct destination pages without encountering broken links or errors.
-
Content integrity is preserved. Whether you're browsing from a homepage, department page, or resource directory, all connections between internal content will remain functional.
This automation ensures that the user experience within the intranet is uninterrupted and intuitive following the go-live of the new platform.
