As you begin your migration of your intranet off of Salesforce to the new Simpplr ONE platform, you may be wondering how your content will need to be updated. Often, customers will include links to other content for easy navigation. The problem is that these links are all Salesforce links.
Going forward, any existing Salesforce link in your intranet's content will need to be manually updated. In order to locate the existence of those links, you can run a report in your current Salesforce instance. The instructions below will walk you through how to do that.
- Head to your Salesforce instance that your intranet is built on.
- From the Setup menu, navigate to the Quick Find box on the left-hand side, type report, and select Report Types from the dropdown menu.
- Note, if this is your first time creating a custom report, you'll see a modal instructing you on how to create reports. Click Continue to move on.
- Click New Custom Report Type.
- From the Primary Object dropdown menu, locate Simpplr Social Analytics. Select it.
- Title your report anything you'd like, but preferably "URL Redirect Report". The Report Type Name field will fill in automatically based on your title.
- Fill in a mandatory description, just giving a blurb about the purpose of your report.
- In the Store in Category field, choose Other Reports.
- Your finished report setup should look similar to the image below. When finished, click Next.
- Click Save on the next screen.
- Now from your top navigation dashboard, click Reports.
- Click New Report...
3. Click the plus sign next to Other Reports > Simpplr Social Analytics from the report type menu, or type in Simpplr Social Analytics to locate the report type you just created.
4.Drag and drop in the Metadata, PageURL, Simpplr Social Analytics: Created Date and Simpplr Social Analytics: Created By fields form the left-hand side to begin populating your report.
5. Run the report by clicking Run Report at the top of the page.
Comments
This report appears to show everything that has ever been created in Simpplr. How do I simplify it to show only those URLs that need to be updated?
Step three appears to reference the wrong report type? I created "URL Redirect Report" but the step says to type in "Simpplr Social Analytics." This appears to be the wrong report type as well, since there is nothing in the metadata fields in any of these records.
