Dashboards can be personalized in different ways, depending on what works best for your organization.
Home dashboards
Site dashboards
The feed can be included on a dashboard or as a separate tab.
Home dashboards
To assign Home dashboard layout permissions:
- As the App manager, navigate to Manage > Application > Setup. Here, you can choose whether each End user can personalize their layout, or if the App/segment manager will maintain that power.
To set up a Home dashboard layout, click the icon on the bottom right-hand corner of the Home page.
You can then select whether to include the feed on the dashboard or not. Your available options will change depending on your choice.
You can also choose which content to add to your home carousel from here. From the icon in the bottom corner, choose Edit carousel
Note:
The Home feed displays all feed posts from sites, people and topics the user is following.
Site dashboards
Similar to Home dashboards, Site dashboards can be configured at the Manage application level. App managers can allow either Site owners/managers or other App managers to maintain control over the site settings. To do so:
- Navigate to Manage > Application > Setup.
- Here you can decide to allow Site owners/managers governance over their sites. This is the recommended practice, as it allows for greater autonomy over how their site works. The other option is to give App managers control over site settings. Choosing App manager removes feed from home, sites and content.
To configure Site dashboard layouts, navigate to the site and click the gear icon in the bottom right-hand corner.
From here, the layout options are the same as the Home dashboard options. You can select whether to include the feed on the dashboard or not. Your available options will change depending on your choice. Then you can decide which content to include in the site carousel.
