Overview

The Do not disturb (DND) feature helps organizations manage notifications outside working hours for compliance and user well-being.

With this feature, we've introduced a few new key functionalities:

  • Admin & user controls: Admins set default work hours; users can override if allowed
  • Time zone aware: Settings apply based on the user’s local time
  • Notification handling:
    • Non-essential notifications are suppressed outside working hours
    • In-app, newsletter, and alert notifications remain unaffected
    • Critical system alerts (password resets, account recovery) are always delivered

How are notifications handled with Do not disturb enabled?

Notification type (click here to see definitions for each notification type on Simpplr) Behavior outside working hours
Regular notifications Suppressed
In-app notifications Always delivered
Alerts, newsletters, and surveys Always delivered
Critical system alerts (e.g., password resets, account recovery) Always delivered

App manager setup

From Manage > Application > Defaults > Notifications, you'll see a Do not disturb menu.

End user modification

If the app manager chooses to allow end users to control their own working hours, a new menu will appear in the My settings menu under Notifications labelled Do not disturb. Here, users will be able to control their own working days and hours.

All work hours set here will comply with the individual user's timezone as set in their profile.
